The so called The 3 Day Diet is one of the more mysterious fad diets which is around for a long time already. It promises that you are able to lose 10 pounds in as little as 3 days.
You can read about this very fast way to lose weight on the internet and many other places. Another name for this way to lose 10 pounds is "Cleveland Clinic Diet".
What is it? Well, with this diet you have to follow an exact plan for, well, you guessed it, 3 days. After wards you can resume to eat normally for 5 days, and then you can go back to the 3 Day diet regimen.
What's interesting is that in the original appearance of this fad diet there was no mentioning whatsoever about exercise. Furthermore, it might be more than questionable whether what you lose in those 3 Days is actually fat. In all likelihood, you will not burn fat but lose some water weight.
Nevertheless, here is the list of what to eat in the 3 Days to lose 10 pounds fast:
Day 1
For Breakfast
Black Coffee/Tea with no sugar. Sweetener if desired.
1/2 grapefruit or juice
1 piece toast with 1 tablespoon peanut butter
Lunch
1/2 cup tuna
1 piece toast
Black Coffe/Tea with no sugar. Sweetener if desired.
Dinner
3 ounces lean chicken or meat
1 cup green beans
1 cup carrots
1 apple
1 cup vanilla ice cream
Day 2
For Breakfast
Black Coffee/Tea with no sugar. Sweetener if desired.
1 egg
1/2 banana
1 piece of toast
Lunch
1 cup cottage cheese or tuna
8 regular saltine crackers
Dinner
2 beef franks
1 cup broccoli ( alternatively cabbage)
1/2 cup carrots
1/2 banana
1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
Day 3
For Breakfast
Black Coffee/Tea with no sugar. Sweetener if desired.
5 crackers
1 ounce cheddar cheese
1 apple
Lunch
Black Coffee/Tea with no sugar. Sweetener if desired.
1 egg
1 piece of toast
Dinner
1 cup tuna
1 cup carrots
1 cup cauliflower
1 cup melon
1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
The above has to be followed strictly! It is also recommended to drink 4 cups of water every day.
Well, it has to be said that the so called The 3 Day Diet comes with a lot of wonder promises like that it would increase your energy, "magically" burn the fat (without exercise!), lowers your bad cholesterol AND at the same time cleanses your body. Too bad, none of this has any scientific base to stand on, whatsoever.
Without expecting too much, all you can do is try it for yourself! Eat the exact foods as described in the above plan and alternate 3 days of dieting from the above plan with 5 days of normal eating. Rinse and repeat a few times and see how much weight you lost!
