Breakthrough a weight loss plateau

weight loss plateau scales

Most people on a diet experience a weight loss plateau at some point during and is one major problems with traditional calorie counting diets.
When you reduce the level of calories you eat your body realises its not getting as much as before and starts to work slower to conserve energy levels by reducing the speed of metabolism. Over time your body gets used to how many calories you are eating and becomes very efficient at using only these calories to do everything it needs to and starts to protect fat stores in case you start eating less in the future.

In order to break through your weight loss plateau you need to trick your body and there are a number of ways to do this.

Mix up your diet

Many people following a weight loss plan eat very similar foods each day and each week. Vary your meals and add different foods that your body hasn’t been used to eating for a while.

Eat a high calorie meal

If you have been following a low calorie diet and you suddenly eat a high calorie meal your body will suddenly spring in to life and increase the speed of your metabolism. It will assume you will be eating this type of meal in the future and so will stop ‘hoarding’ fat stores and start to burn fat again. Try to have a high calorie meal, followed by a low calorie meal whenever you reach a weight loss plateau.

Mix up your exercise

If you’ve been doing the same exercise routine for a while, do something different. Try lifting a few weights, especially using your leg muscles as this will stimulate your body in to action. Also try some high intensity exercise routines that get your heart rate going for a short period of time.

Make sure you get the nutrients your body needs.

Many of the popular calorie counting diets may leave you depleted as you try to cut calories. By feeding your body with the nutrients it needs to perform at its optimum level you’ll find it burns fat more effectively. You may need to add a quality natural vitamin and mineral supplement to your diet to get everything you need on a daily basis.

Make sure you are getting enough protein each day and consider having a meal replacement shake for one or two meals a day which contains over 20grams of good quality whey protein.

Are toxins the problem?

Its been shown that toxins are able to enter fat cells, and so by removing the toxins you are often able to target the fat cells at the same time. We’ve found that many people who have problems losing weight even when they are eating a high quality low carb diet and doing exercise have toxicity issues and notice their weight loss efforts speed up during and after a detox.

Avoid harsh cleansing products and colon cleansers and look for a 100% natural program that will cleanse your whole body focus-sing on long-term rather than quick-fix results.

Follow our tips above and you’ll soon break through your weight loss plateau and start seeing results again soon! Have you experience similar problems before? what did you do to get beyond and achieve your goals? leave us a comment to let us know below….
