The Atkins Diet Phase 1, also known as Induction Phase usually lasts at least two weeks. However, you can go as long as 3 or 4 weeks on phase one.
In Phase 1 of the Atkins Diet we have a clearly defined list of acceptable foods – but also a list of foods which are not permitted in this time.
List of foods you can eat while in the induction phase 1:

Cheese
You can eat plenty and all kinds of cheese, however you are not allowed to eat any "diet" or low-fat cheese. Here is a list of allowed cheese:

Eggs
Eggs are fine in all kinds of ways, scrambled, fried, poached, boiled. Omelettes are allowed too.
Vegetables
You are permitted to each a variety of vegetables. Especially good because of their high content in fibers.

Only one cup daily or no more than two cups are recommended.
All kinds of spices and herbs

Oils Drinks and Beverages allowed
On the Atkins diet in phase 1 it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids every day. At a minimum of eight glasses are ideal.

-> NOT permitted are all kinds of alcoholic drinks as well as drinks high in caffeine!
Here is the general explanation of the Atkins Diet Phase 1, also known as Induction Phase:
No more than 20 grams of carbs intake daily for 14 days. Three to five smaller meals a day as opposed to less, but bigger meals. Smaller meals keep the metabolism busy and help to burn the fat faster.
No chance for carbs!
A big no-no are all foods high in carbs, this includes potatoes, pasta, fruits, bread and dairy EXCEPT cheese listed as above.
No so called "diet foods"!! With this list you should get a pretty clear idea about how to lose weight fast while in the introductory Atkins Diet Phase 1.
