Whats Best? A Cleansing Diet or a Traditional Diet

woman holding scalesThere has been a lot of publicity recently about Cleansing Diets recently, but how do they differ from a traditional calorie controlled diet and do they really work? We decided to take a closer look…

What do we mean by ‘traditional diet’?

Most traditional diets focus on calorie counting or portion control, some popular examples would include Weight Watchers or MediFast.

What is a cleansing diet?

Firstly it’s important to understand what isn’t part of a cleansing diet.

Although easily confused, a cleansing diet is not a harsh colon cleansing diet that uses laxatives or diuretics that simply strip the body of everything, good and bad (we don’t recommend colon cleansing as an effective way to lose weight).

The purpose of a cleansing diet is to support the body’s natural detoxification processes and help the body to remove unwanted impurities and toxins from the body, remove unwanted fat and increase the speed at which the body is able to burn fat.

What’s wrong with traditional diets?

Most of us have tried one or more of the popular diets out there and although some people manage to get results, many people get frustrated with the restricted diets and focus on short-term results.

Recent studies have actually shown that these kind of diets may deplete the body of essential nutrients, which as well as not being particularly healthy may slow down weight loss efforts over time as the body is no longer able to work efficiently.

A traditional diet doesn’t deal with the root cause of weight gain and most people find the weight comes back on as soon as they stop eating a restricted diet.

Do Cleansing Diets Work?

We first tried a cleansing diet over 18 months ago and whilst we were sceptical at first the results spoke for themselves, we’ve seen many people who had tried almost every diet under the sun without success, but managed to shift the weight after cleansing their body. Of course it’s not for everyone, but if you are trying to lose weight its well worth taking a closer look.

We now recommend the Isagenix Fat Burning and Cleansing Diet as our No 1 weight loss product.

Why Cleanse?

why cleanse girlThe body is an amazing machine and is able to identify and remove toxins and impurities when they enter the body. These toxins come from the foods we eat, air we breathe, water we drink and our environment.

However a combination of nutrient poor foods (from intensive farming), processed foods and our modern, stressful and busy lifestyles had led to using being exposed to more toxins than ever before and in many cases our bodies are overloaded and simply can’t keep up.

We know that toxins can get in to our fat cells and so when we remove the toxins, fat will be released at the same time.

A nutritional cleansing diet (which people have been doing for thousands of years) supports the body’s natural detoxification processes to help it clear the back log and remove toxins and impurities.

But it takes it an important step further by nourishing the body the nutrients it needs to return to its natural balance.

A nutritional cleansing diet can help you to:

  • Reach and maintain optimum weight
  • Improve digestion and bowel function
  • Get more energy and better concentration
  • Feel energized and regain optimum health
